   Creation of mobile Hospice for seriously ill and moribund patients. Open Society Institute supported the project in 1998. Period of realization of the pilot project 12 months.The aim of this project was to provide the medical, psychological and social support to moribund patients and allow them to have a good quality of their life. The main purposes of the created hospice service are to relieve pain and sufferings, both physical and spiritual, of the hopeless patients, to help them live a normal life up to the end; to train the relatives to look after seriously ill patients and simultaneously to remove stress from them. In all, over 120 patients were examined and 30 persons were selected out of them. For 6 months, both the patients relatives and the patronage sisters and nurses of the mobile hospice service took training courses, in which doctors, psychologists, lawyers, actors and clergymen took part. About 30 patients were serviced in Hospice at that period.

    AIDS. A look from XXI century. The project was supported by UNDP (United National Development program) 2000 - 2001. Period of realization - 12 + 6 months. Its circulation is 500 copies. The project included work with adolescents and youth from minorities. The aim of the project was to train these persons on the basics of safe behavior. The publication of 3 booklets with questionnaires allowed providing information on HIV-infection ways of contaminations. The value of this project consisted of the fact that we were able to receive a feedback on HIV-infection.

   Study of migrational tendencies in some regions of Azerbaijan (on the example of Jewish community). International Organization on Migration and «Hayat» supported it, 2000 period of realization - 4 months. About 1000 people were asked from Oguz region, Sumgayit, Baku. The aim o this project was to reveal some tendencies and to identify the possible ways of development for the future. We also tried to identify the reasons impelling people to move to other countries. This study was dedicated to the thorough migrational policy in order to exclude the illegal migration.

   Youth of XXI century against AIDS and Drug. This project was supported by BP (British Petroleum) Exploration (Caspian Sea) in 2001.Period of realization - 3 months. Circulation - 500 copies. The aim of this project is the Creation of three projects with translation in to Azeri language. The project included work with adolescents and youth from minorities. The aim of the project was to train these persons on the basics of safe behavior. The final aim of present project will be conducting of the competition of drawings and essays among the final-year schoolstudents.

Training

   Training course on patronage service for local NGOs. This project was supported by OXFAM (UK - based charity foundation) 1997 - 1998. Period of realization - 12 months.30 people were studied of patronage service. The aim of this project was to provide the medical, psychological and social support to moribund patients and allow them to have a good quality of their life. The main purposes of the created hospice service are to relieve pain and sufferings, both physical and piritual, of the hopeless patients, to help them live a normal life up to the end; to train the relatives to look after seriously ill patients and simultaneously to remove stress from them. Exhibitions

   The NGO Fair. This project was supported by ISAR, 2001. Period of realization - 2 months. The aim of the project was to present the Association to the general public.

   The Exhibition devoted to the 190th anniversary of the Jewish Community in Azerbaijan. The president of the Association L. Reichrudel with volunteers collected archives documents, photographs and rare books that were displayed in the exposition. This exposition reflected not only a way of Jews' life but their contribution into development of Azerbaijan. Representatives of the President machinery, government, parliament and diplomatic corps visited the exhibition. Open Society Institute supported the project in 2001. Period of realization - 2 months.

Publications

   Home care - training materials. It was realized under support OXFAM (UK - based charity foundation)in 1999 - 2000, during 6 months. Its circulation is 500 copies. This book was aimed to fill the gap existed in the local market. The manual was published in 2 languages - Russian and Azeri. Home care is the synthesis of raining materials and practical skills accumulated during oundation and improvement of the patronage service for aged persons in the limits of this project.

   The human in the contemporary world: gender issues. Open Society Institute supported this project in 1999 - 2000. Period of realization - 6 months. Circulation - 50 copies. 300 people were polled. The youth group of Humanitarian Association of Jewish Women makes a sociological study with a specially designed questionnaire. The study included 2 main aspectsn for the gender issues : Social issue, Socio-psychological issue. Economical and social processes occurring in Azerbaijan are very complicated and polysemantic. It is necessary to take into considera-tion the interests of the society to influence them through governmental and non-governmental structures The interests of society differ due to age and historical and contemporary differences between male and female.

   Translation of 2 manuals on palliative care from English to Azeri. The project was supported by Open Society Institute (Soros Foundation) 2001. Period of realization - 4 months. Symptomatic pain relief in terminal illness. Circulation - 100 copies. Cancer pain relief - a guide to use of opiates. Circulation - 100 copies.
