   Humanitarian Association of Jewish Women of Azerbaijan (HAJW) was founded in 1992 by Jewish women realized that Azerbaijan is their motherland which endu red at that time very compound and dramatic period of its improvement. The main purpose of the Association joint people of different professions and knowledge was and still stays disinterested and sincere serving to the country become the motherland for them and the society, in which always feel themselves as having equa rights. Understanding that steady and stable progress can be in the society free of national and religious prejudices HAJW continues its activity, trying to take part into process of improvement and progress of Azerbaijan.

Humanitarian Association of Jewish Women

    Humanitarian Association of Jewish Women's of Azerbaijan (HAJW) is a non-governmental, non-political, non-religious, non-profitable public organization that pursues only humanitarian aims. The Association accomplishes its activity in Baku as well as in districts of Azerbaijan. HAJW unites a great number of volunteers in different districts of the country. Among members of HAJW there are many doctors, teachers, musicians, nurses, housewives. The Association has a great experience in the field of the social and medical activity. The main directions of the Association's activity are: patronage service at home for old lonely people, charitable lunches for the poor, free medical aid for ill lonely people, establishment of "Club for elderly people". HAJW helps orphans, poor population in the districts of Azerbaijan, martyrs' families, refugees and disabled children. Humanitarian Association of Jewish Women's is a member of 1-st Consortium of non-governmental women's organizations (NIS - USA). The Association's supreme leading body is General Meeting of its members to be called together at least once a year.

    The President of the Association, elected by the General Meeting for a period of years, is Dr. Larisa Y. Reikhrudel. She has a diploma on "Buncher Leadership Program" received in Jerusalem (May 1996), a certificate on "Women NGO Management" program (CIP, USAID, AED) received in the United States of America (Washington-Florida, August 1997) and has completed her studies in the Course for "Welfare Center Directors" Institute for Communal and Welfare Workers.(Russia, St. Petersburg, 1997-1998).

Work experience:
  • 1968 - present Pediatric policlinics No. 5, Yasamalin district as a pediatrician of the highest degree.

    Young group

        At present time, under the Association an initiative group of young people has been started - volunteers who assist in carrying out social programs.

    The initiative group carries out the following activity:
  • development of the volunteer movement;
  • reduction of the catastrophic growth of sickness rate among child population (provision with foodstuff and medical supplies);
  • resolving the problem of returning children to their own families or finding alternative variants;
  • gardening of territory of children's houses and protection of pools of potable water.

    The initiative - youth group has received two grants:
  • May, 2000. The grant from UN. "AIDS. A view with XXI of century."
  • June, 2000. The grant of Soros Foundation in Azerbaijan. "Sociological interrogation: the person in a modern world. Gender aspect."
  • Stanislav Druker

        The coordinator of the initiative group is Stanislav Druker.

    Education:

  • 1987-1995-Azerbaijan Oil Academy

    Work experience:
  • 1996 to present: coordinator of the youth group of humanitarian Jewish Women Organization of Azerbaijan (JWOA).
  • Curator on humanitarian aid of four orphanages
